| The majority of physiotherapists practicing in the UK do so
within the National Health Service or public sector as it is
known. Currently the basic annual salary scales for physiotherapists
are as follows: |

physiotherapist (1st level) £17,115 rising to £19,115 |
 |
senior II (2nd level) £18,375 rising to £23,405 |
 |
senior I (3rd level) £21,825 rising to £26,055 |
Physiotherapists working within the London area receive additional
payments to that outlined above. A normal working week in a NHS
hospital is 36 hours.
Private Work
Private hospitals, clinics and private practices are constantly
on the increase here in the UK and the salary scales for work within
the private sector is usually higher.
Climate & Clothing
British weather can be unpredictable, cold and wet one minute, warm
and sunny the next. On a whole the climate is moderate with temperatures
in winter averaging 40F/4C and in the summer 65F/17C. Therefore
you should ensure you bring appropriate outdoor clothing with you,
a warm coat, hat, gloves and an umbrella.
Currency
The British pound is the currency used in the UK made up of £50,
£20, £10, £5 Notes and £2, £1, 50p, 20p, 10p, 5p, 2p, 1p coins.

Food
It is essential that you ensure that you have sufficient money to
purchase food until you are paid at the end of your first month
of work. Sufficient money for food would average around £25 per
week per person.
Accommodation
We shall assist you in finding suitable accommodation close to the
location in which you will be working, taking into consideration
your financial and personal situation. Accommodation costs depend
entirely on where you are based. In London the house and flat prices
are far more expensive than say, Yorkshire. You are able to Rent
rooms, flats, houses, or share flats and houses. Costs can range
from £40 per week to £600 per week depending on size and location
of the property. On a whole you will initially need approximately
£1,000 to ensure you have enough to pay for your accommodation for
a period of 2 months.
