Nurses
Supervised Practise
In most cases, nurses who have trained in countries other than the
UK will need to undergo a period of Supervised Practice. This is
usually for a period of 6 months in order to monitor your level
of communication skills and medical experience.
You will need:
1. Be in possession of a letter from the UKCC authorising Supervised
Practice.
2. Copies of any relevant certificates of qualifications etc.
3. A Photocopy of your passport, including the number.
A clinical supervision placement, for a period of between one and
six months (you will be paid a nominal rate for this clinical work,
as indicated by the UK Government's Guidelines on International
Recruitment).
Once your period of Supervised Practice with the hospital is completed
and subject to successful completion, the hospital will then apply
for a work permit for you, usually for a period of 2 years.
